Resto 37 Café Deco, Bloomsbury
Café Deco is a newish Resto on the academic alley of Store Street, a couple of doors down from the excellent espresso mongers and on the way to Senate ‘Arse. We were given a table on the dinky terrace and perused a pleasingly brief menu. I went for a starter of something whose main body escapes me but that rode in with an unannounced topping of e*g. So I had to swap it for an excellent smoked trout. Main of bean stew is about the best is the best stew I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a few.
The wine list features all natural wines and I let the Old Boy be our guide (that being his speciality). A fine Greek white was delicious, as was pretty much everything. And the service outstanding.
All in all about as good a meal as you could get between Fitzrovia and Islington. Highly recommended.
