Restaurant 3, Wright’s, Pall Mall

A new guiding pal introduced me to Wright’s after a morning toiling away in the Library left me in need of cheap eats of the filling variety. It’s a winner on that front.
Upfront is a deli-style counter that was doing brisk business on the take-away front. Out back there’s a bigger than expected room with tables turning for a busy, suity crowd. The menu is substantial sandwiches and simple pasta dishes. I had a an arrabbiata, which was a bigger than expected amount of pasta in a mildly spicy sauce. A Diet Coke with that (I was back at the books in the afternoon) and an espresso made for a sub-£20 lunch, which, for table service in this part of town isn’t bad value. And certainly beats a cold sandwich from Pret.
7/10
