Restaurant 6, Voce, Milan

Attached to the Galleria d’Italia we’d spotted above the previous day while tootling around the Cortina ‘56 photography exhibition. The exhibition was good but frustrating for a historian as there was little context to the exhibits and no catalogue to mitigate that. Oh well.
Voce, on the other hand, delivered big time. The room is luxury itself, that is until you go to the bogs through the high end resto to which it is attached. That’s another level. But we were happy with a corner table to watch the espresso snafflers at the bar and some glammed up Italians sitting down.
I took a focaccia margherita, based on Francesca’s info that real Italian focaccia is unobtainable in London. She’s right, the Milanese version was superb. A big hit of tomatoes and basil on oily bread. A good glass of pinot Grigio with that. IService was excellent and I live the Italian system of paying the person running the till. Now I was ready to face a one hour kettling at the hands of the IOC.
But what’s this? Feedback must have reached the ears of The Man and this day we went through the entry to the hockey stadium at a breeze. Maybe the woman from caff’ dell opera had a ticket that day and they didn’t want to take any chances.
9/10
