Resto 6 Bout’chou, Paris

The finale of the week in Paris was a trip back to the Salle Pleyel to see Tindersticks once more. Just around the corner from the venue we found Bout’chou (no idea), a charming corner brasserie decked out in bright colours.

The server chose to put us on a table right next to a post-work party in full swing. Usually this would be an issue but being on holiday I was in a mellow mood. And could enjoy watching two women fighting over the most extrovert man at the table, who didn’t seem to mind the attention.

The menu is brief but full of interesting things. Stand out for me was perch, which if I’ve ever eaten it before must have been cooked in a frying pan in a scout camp. It was delicious; two delicate fillets of fishy yum. That was after a starter of prawns equally good, all washed down with a Sauvignon Blanc. The perfect pre-gig warm up.

8/10
