Resto 18, Bon Plaisir, Seven Dials

Work and social pressure mean that review currently are in a continuing state of chaos. But it was ever thus.

Bon Plaisir … when did we visit? A week or so ago? Friday night after an excellent look at the bijou Wright of Derby show. Orrery and Philosopher with the stars being the prints. Nice bijou show, not sure if I’d be happy if I paid for it though.

Bon Plaisir. What’s the French for bang average?

So the dinner … hmmm. Think. Prawn cocktail to start? Yes. All good. Fish for main? I think so. Which is to say you’re not going to remember the food particularly at MP, it’s all fine – and definitely better than Café Rouge – but not worth these prices.

The service also good, in fact the best part of the experience. The room, trad ‘French’ and Piaf/Ferré/Hardy on the jukebox.

Would I go there again? Yeah, if I hadn’t booked somewhere better on a Friday night but you could do 10 minutes trot further to Savoir Faire and get the same thing for a 20% discount.

6/10
