Resto 26 Taste of India, Oostende
After a day’s travel to Oostende (and a power nap of 3 hours on arrival) we were hungry thirsty. The Belgian riviera in November is a bracing place and after a stroll beside the beautiful beach, adorned by great blocks of bright red twisted metal, we nipped in to Taste of India to lay in some ballast for the evening ahead.
Well, I could be just carrying on my review from the Palms of Goa because what we found was a British-style classic Indian restaurant transported across the North Sea. The menu was skewed more towards north India and filled with yummy goodness. We shared a selection of pakora up front, all crispy cooked and delicious while I had a jalfrezi for main. Not as hot as some it nevertheless was very tasty with plenty of sauce to be mopped up with a fresh from the oven naan bread.
The service was charm itself, with a smattering of English and French helping things along. We sauntered out into the night to round ourselves off back at the hotel with some mild 8% La Chouffe.
8/10
