St Pancras or Bloomsbury? No matter. It had been a long day for each of us and we were looking for old skool South Asian food. We found it.
Messence feels like the ghost of the standard. Except they don’t have a licence so the old boy went to the offy to secure a few cans. Alone when we arrive we were soon joined by some fellow souls from parts north of the capital. And a random couple of SOAS guys sporting their lanyards (so proud).
Well, the test is set in stone. Samosa, onion bhaji, jalfrezi, naan, rice. Least successful was the bhaji, which lacked crisp. The jalfrezi was a proper chilli monster and made up for that in abundance.
The room is curious in that there are replicas of each artwork on the walls. But service was standard level but lacking a trolley. For which …
